this unit briefly discusses the different parts of a sentences-subject verb and object and later categorizes words as nouns, verbs , gerunds, adjectives , adverbs , pronouns , prepositions , auxiliary verbs and conjunctives. i found the unit important, because it helps to systematically understand a word, and, i expect will allow for better understanding of sentence structure. it is notable that there are many irregularities in English, with respect to plural form, verb tense and spelling of adverbs, which would make both teaching and studying English difficult because it is less consistent in its rules then easy to learn. a fact i have often struggled with when teaching chinese students.
