This unit provided an overview of the main parts of speech, as well as some very general information about their attributes and peculiarities. Some basic grammar terminology was explained and useful teaching hints provided. There were Plenty of examples to illustrate the grammar points, something that we should use in our daily teaching. Examples are the best way for our students to understand the rules and internalize them. Actually, it?s best to let our students figure out the rules by themselves from the examples that we provide them with.
I also discovered (sinceI Haven?t paid attention to this fact so far) that there is a difference in the way British and american speakers of the language arrange adverbs of manner, place and time. :-)",
This unit provided a general overview of basic grammar pertaining to the English language. I found it to be beneficial because a good teacher cannot teach English unless he/she has an understanding of the grammatical structure of the language. Being able to understand the material allows the teacher to explain in a clear manner. This also enables the teacher to tailor teaching methods to his/her students without the fear of relaying incorrect information.,
