Unit 13 was a lesson on linguistics as well as patterns in speech. It discussed the rise and fall of intonation in a sentence to clarify if one is finished talking or if they are expecting a response. The unit also covered stress within sentences and multi-syllabic words. I realized during this lesson how important it is to not only teach pronunciation of sounds but also the intonation and stress within the language. This is why I have foreign friends whose speech still sounds odd despite the fact that they can produce the correct sounds. They are either stressing the wrong words or syllable
