Parts of speech are an essential part of English. I was unclear of many of the rules that were taught during the lesson. Like transitive and intransitive verbs and even some basic simple rules, like the correct usage of definite/indefinite articles. The lesson really helped a ton and many unknown subjects got cleared up. Unit 2 covers all major components of English from a teaching point of view. Although I have used nouns, adjectives and intransitive verbs all my life contemplating them in definition is something new. I think with this area constant practice and repetition is essential to develop a competency suitable for teaching. The unit gives a brief description of parts of speech in English language. As each sentence consist of a number of words, each of which plays a role in the sentence and takes its special place due to the word order it sounds quite important to know this system in detail.
