To understand the parts of speech is necessary to handle our native grammar, I mean students must have a good base about their own language in order to learn the grammar in L2. This unit help me to reinforce what I learnt years ago and to realize that grammar is very important in learning a new language. With this unit I feel I have gotten a better understanding of how to break down sentences. I now find it easier to understand and easier to explain to others the 'parts of speech' in a sentence. I believe this will help me analyse other's understanding of English grammar.
