This unit breaks down the common parts of speech and gives us a basic understanding of grammar and grammatical structure. It is easy to see how non-native speakers of English could be easily intimidated by learning English grammar and accompanying rules, thus highlighting the importance of presenting the information in an effective manner. I have learnt about the part of speech such as nouns,prepositions,adjectives,gerund etc.
It is very interesting to be able to form new words on your own using the different parts of speech.The knowledge that i have gained is immeasurable,as a teacher,i am confident that I'll be able to teach the students grammar. I have been refreshed on the definitions of transitive and intransitive verbs. I have learned the technical order to placing multiple adjectives in a sentence. I have learned about the various types of adverbs. I have learned about what are reflexive and relative pronouns. I have also learned about the types of prepositions.
