What is the course schedule? During the first week, classes heavily concentrate on learning about ESL teaching principles and methods. Classes start at 9:00 a.m. and finish at 5:00 p.m. with an hour lunch from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and several short breaks throughout the day. During these sessions trainees learn about classroom management, grammar, phonology, culture and other practical aspects of the course. When you are not teaching, attire can be casual. However, please bear in mind that we enjoy four seasons in New York: spring, summer, fall and winter. Between November and the end of February, the temperature may fall below freezing so a winter coat, a hat, a scarf and mittens/gloves are recommended.
