It is well known that the population of students in the same class is usually heterogeneous. In other words, all students have different learning abilities, talents, intelligence, interests, and maturity level. A teacher's task is to understand how to help each student to learn best. Educators use various teaching techniques, methods, and tools to reach students' needs. There are different ways to teach the classes with mixed learning abilities, and among them are the strategies that work well in the multilevel classes.

The teaching of business English by definition means that your students/clients will be adults. English is the modern language of business. As markets have become global, businesses at all levels have had to adapt and train their staff in English usage, both written and spoken.

When teaching Business English, you do not need to be a specialist in any particular business field to be able to teach, though a working knowledge of general business terminology will be very beneficial and may assist in many ways for both the student and teacher.

Young children, even when they are learning their native tongue, learn the words before they learn how to apply them correctly and as a result, children often make mistakes in their grammar, however, even when they do, it is mostly the vocabulary or the order of the words which still provides a degree of context which makes the message they intend to convey understandably and thus susceptible to improvement. It is exactly because of this fact that in this essay, I would like to dive into teaching vocabulary.

There are many things I have learned over my thirty-plus years teaching students full time in classrooms, ranging from primary grades 2-5 and in junior high and high school. However, one of the most crucial things a teacher needs in the face of young and older learners is confidence! If the students suspect that the teacher has no idea what they are doing, it can be detrimental to the lesson and the teacher's ability to control the classroom situation. Having a confident teacher brings positivity to the classroom and comfort among the students that they are going to learn something valuable. Throughout my career, I wore many hats to grow... The main reason for doing this TEFL course was to improve my teaching skills and to use them to teach business English. Even though I studied business and economics, I cannot know everything in this field or other fields like hotel management or IT. But I can help my students to improve their vocabulary and to speak more fluently at meetings. It is important in the beginning that we ask our students what they would like to improve and why they decided to take special business English classes. Based on their needs we can provide a high-level class, tailored to their needs.

A child needs to feel a sense of trust in educators to fully cooperate in the class. There are many ways to increase motivation that will gain students' performance. To successfully motivate students, educators need to get to know students on a more personal level to know strengths and weaknesses to find the proper direction in finding strategies to motivate students in the classroom.

Ever since I was a little girl, education has been a huge part of my life. My mother was a teacher at the elementary school I attended and also taught me and my sisters Japanese after school in our home. I have always been inquisitive, constantly asking questions to my parents and teachers about topics I was interested in and about things I didn't quite understand.

Parents play a vital role in their child’s education. Parents, teachers, and the school need to work together for an effective and successful learning environment. Parents are the first educators of their children, and as it is always said that ‘charity begins at home’. Motivation and support from parents for learning activities at home coupled with parental involvement in schooling is very imperative to children’s education. “Student motivation” is affected by both intrinsic and extrinsic factors” (Reeve, 1996). It is part of a teacher’s job to boost student’s interests for knowledge and understanding, knowing as intrinsic motivation. This essay will be a comparison of my personal experience teaching English in Barbados, a country whose main language is English versus teaching English in a rural area in Japan, a country whose main language is Japanese (not English). Firstly, I will briefly discuss the definitions of teaching. Secondly, I will summarize English education for young learners in each country. Finally, I will compare and contrasts my personal experience in both countries and the valuable lessons I have learned. To protect the anonymity of the schools, the specific areas and any other identifying information will be excluded from this essay.

When it comes to teaching a lot of teachers are set in their ways, especially if this has been their career for a while, but over the years we have learned that teachers need to be flexible with their methods because there is a wide range of learning abilities in every classroom. Each child has their own learning styles and the way we approach a lesson should be tailored too, hopefully, to meet the needs of every child in the room.

Recently there was a debate on whether technology should be used in the classroom. It intern created these questions; is it profitable in the long run? Is it worth the money for parents? Are we as educators feeding into the technology movement? Breslin, McKeown, & Groves (2012), states “technology refers to methods, systems, and devices which are the result of scientific knowledge being used for practical purposes.”
It is important to note that some students are already interested in and engaged in using technology. Mareco (2017), pointed out “Technology is entwined in almost every part of our culture. It affects how we live, work and plays and most importantly learn.” As a result, it creates... [Read more]

It is likely that at some point in every person's life they have experienced one, if not several, stressful classroom situations. Be it as a child, teenager, or adult, regardless of student or teacher, classroom dynamics, and the number of unpredictable situations that can occur can induce stress for all parties. I made a good number of blunders my first year teaching that still make me cringe. I learned though. And it's fair to say, when it comes to managing a classroom, most of what we learn as new teachers is trial by fire. It's also smart to heed the advice of those who have walked - and stumbled - before you. If you are struggling with discipline, here are five tips that you can start using right away:

Extrinsic motivation is a push that comes from outside of a person. When people want to gain a reward (good grades) or avoid punishment, they are usually extrinsically motivated. Intrinsic motivation is a push that comes from inside a person. When people enjoy doing a certain activity they are intrinsically motivated.
At times, when a person has an intrinsic motivation, rewarding them can reduce their intrinsic motivation, which could make them less interested in the activity, thus decreasing their performance.

Vocabulary has always been one language area about which students usually complain and claim that it impedes language learning. The main purpose of this study is to investigate whether using the context for guessing the meaning of new vocabulary can solve this problem. The learning of vocabulary is an important part of foreign language learning. The meaning of new words is very frequently emphasized, whether in books or verbal communication. And also, English teachers have an important role in teaching new vocabularies. In this research, we will study different kinds of teaching vocabulary by using a dictionary or guessing on the context. Further, the study also attempted to reveal what kind of factors hinder or...
