I have many friends who's english is not their first language. I definitely can see why and how learning english is such a difficult task. The two main receptive skills are reading and listening. These skills are equally important when it comes to how well a student understands information. A teacher must be aware of receptive skills and how to use them to influence the learning outcomes of a class.
