The unit then provided a number of activities and sample lessons in teaching the productive skills. Techniques in encouraging students to speak and write were included. One thing that has impressed me in the units describing how to teach skills is that each one emphasizes the need for establishing a comfortable and positive environment so students can take chances and learn the language without intimidation.
