Throughout these 20 units I have acquired a lot of knowledge that will be very useful in my future teaching career. All the grammar units were very challenging and although I use grammar every day, it had been a while since I last studied it. It made me realize that I need to keep updating my knowledge so that I will be able to teach effectively.
The ESA method and the lessons plans were excellent and really useful as it makes you plan ahead for those sections and ensure that the lesson follows a ‘flexible' structure. I will definitely use these when planning my lessons as I found them quite enjoyable to prepare.
All the other units on classroom arrangements, dealing with discipline, equipment, etc were useful too as all of units had important information to the inexperienced teacher.
The course gave me a good overview of what to expect in a classroom setting and how best to deal with very different factors. Now it is up to me to do some further research into the areas that I feel most uncomfortable and start teaching, as this is the best way to learn.
