Teach English in Woburn Sands - TEFL Courses
I have gained an incredible insight in the way of teaching. Before I took this course, I had prior teaching experience, but I didn't really know what I was doing. If only I'd had this course before I went to teach on the JET program in japan. I was never really good at grammar, but this course gave me a greater understanding of all of that. Now I can go into a classroom and have the proper confidence to teach things like grammar and correct tenses. Confidence is a good thing to have because students draw off of that and will confident in what they do if you are.
I have also gained a lot of knowledge in game making and activity creating. I used a lot of jeopardy in japan which is a great game, but it's nice to have other games in my so called “arsenal”. Now Instead of always falling back on Jeopardy, I can use other games like memory, clue, role-playing etc. This will just make my lesson that much more dynamic and interesting to whomever I teach in the future.
In the future I plan to use all of these tools to make my classroom much more inclusive and immersive even. I have always wanted to be a teacher, but not a math or science teacher. Teaching students whose native language isn't english gives me all sorts of satisfaction. I started my love for TESL in japan, and I only hope to continue it in australia where I currently reside. People say that english is one of the hardest languages to learn, so I can only hope to make it easier and more enjoyable for my students in hopes they go forth and change the world using english.
