What I've appreciated the most about this course is the tips on how to approach certain aspects of the language. It's really interesting, as a native speaker who understands most grammar ideas, to see it from the 'other side', so to speak, and I've learned a lot about actually how one goes about carrying that innate way of thinking over to a non-native speaker. I've also learned a lot about how to organize and manage a class, as the units are very thorough on this, and it's taught me to know how to effectively run a classroom. I plan on using this acquired knowledge to inspire students and hope to help them learn new skills in a variety of interesting and stimulating ways. I want to be able to motivate the kids and make them excited about the language, and also to use simple explanations and instructions to make them comfortable and enthusiastic. One thing I especially loved about the course is how it delves into every area of english teaching, from specific points in grammar to wider ideas of classroom management, for example, because I feel this has prepared me for many aspects of teaching the language. No matter what age group or culture I am presented with, I think this course is the perfect guide for surviving in any and every foreign teaching situation!
