Unit 10 has brought up the testing part into teaching as a second language. There are a number of different types of testing that can be done over a course. Students have to take a test in the beginning before they even start a course to know what level they are in. Diagnostic tests are given to know what the student does and does not know. Progress tests are given to show how fast the students are learning and retaining the information. Practice tests are given to prepare the students for the final exam in order to test out of the course. These tests offer students a number of different option when it comes to the options of their course work and how fast they want to learn the language.
