I have enjoyed doing the course much more than I expected. Although I was very well educated in the UK I think I must have slept through most of my english lessons. I have learnt so much about verbs and all the tenses, use of modal verbs, and basic grammar, the only gap I still feel I have is punctuation.
I found the unit on Phonetics fascinating and really enjoyed the translation - though it took me longer than I expected.
I found the unit on Reported speech the hardest but i think i got there in the end.
The units on basic teaching skills, classroom layout and management, use of equipment and other materials have been invaluable. I have been giving presentations in Physiotherapy for many years; I wish I had had this knowledge then.
I am hoping that I will now be able to use my new skills to teach english in Dubai.
