This course has taught me quite a lot, not only in areas of grammar but also how to construct and use my teaching skills to be effective and welcome. Doing the exercises in the grammar areas has really helped me to focus on each specific part and given me some really good advice on how to teach it and check student knowledge of an area. I now feel that I am more confident but I also know that there is a long way to go in terms of my personal development and quest to be considered a quality and experienced teacher. I am english, speak and write in english but I know that this does not make me an english teacher. I have been lucky to have been given the chance to teach at a Private College here in Slovakia (Bratislava). I was employed there for 2 school years but due to a lack of communication by/from the Director and the fact that it was run like a business (not a school) I have now left the School and looking for employment within teaching. I came to Slovakia 3 years ago with no prior teaching experience and having never been a teacher (excluding being a father to 4 children). I know I love working with children and I believe I have something to offer students here. Your course has fueled that belief and I look forward to using your material at every opportunity to help me. The list of web sites as to extra source material will I have no doubt be used as will the techniques you have suggested. I now have what I consider to be an invaluable ‘tool' (the printed file of the course material) and I know it will be read through many more times and used often as I strife to become an accomplished teacher. I hope I will be allowed to contact you in the future if I have an issue or particular concern surrounding an area of language or perhaps for a further suggestion of a site I can visit to gain an answer.
