Firstly, the course has been a real eye-opener in respect of the grammar units. Whilst I am a native english speaker, much of what was included in the units had been forgotten or rarely used. The units did not just explain the form and the usages but also gave some excellent teaching ideas which I will be sure to use in the future. The biggest personal gain for me was learning about the ESA methodology and how to create lesson plans. Prior to taking this course I had very few ideas of how to structure a lesson. The ESA method, theories and techniques have proved extremely useful. The teaching ideas for each phase and the references for games and activities have all been excellent and provided me with a good base to plan my lessons. Since learning about ESA I have adapted some of my lessons to incorporate the methodology, and the response from the students is always positive. Apart from the ESA method, creating lesson plans and the grammar units, I felt I learnt something from each and every unit in the course. In addition to the substantial information provided in the units, the tutor support was exceptional. The feedback was always thorough and constructive with good explanations. I am really looking forward to completing my next course with ITTT very soon.
