Through this course I have gained a broad perspective on all aspects relevant to teaching in an esl/efl environment and I feel well prepared to start teaching. I would not say that the course has taught me everything I will ever need to know in my future career as an english teacher, but I don't think such a course exists either. I expect to have to review the study materials used in this course periodically and also keep myself up-to-date with the latest findings within the english teaching research field. Once employed as an english teacher, I will prepare my lesson plans 2-3 days before each lesson and if I'm about to teach something I find difficult (for example, advanced grammar) then I will review those teaching points (using a grammar reference book, which I think is a must-have item for any english teacher) 1-2 days before the lesson. At least when I'm still a beginner teacher, I will make sure to evaluate how each lesson went and try to find solutions to unsolved issues that arose during the lesson. For example, if I found that a large portion of the students weren't able to complete a study exercise, then I would need to think about what I could have done differently to get a better result. Maybe I would find that I was a little vague when explaining how to do the exercise and then I would make sure to improve that aspect in my teaching. This will ensure I learn from my mistakes and continually improve as a teacher.
