I suspect this course has helped my teaching skill considerably. Learning the basic concrete rules of english was very helpful, especially as a native english speaker, because many focused on things which I innately know how to produce, but would have had trouble teaching why it works in that way. Knowing these rules has also helped my own english production, as I can think about what I mean to say and express it accordingly. Additionally, knowing what sorts of things are particularly difficult for english learners will help me be sensitive to the students' needs. Finally, having had no teaching experience, the information about teaching methods was extremely helpful. Having some practice creating lesson plans will likely have prepared me for my work to come, and the information in these texts will prove a useful reference if I ever get stuck or need more inspiration for my teaching.
