I feel more confident about how I would begin to teach a class. I also have a much clearer idea about what teaching english as a foreign language actually entails. I would not have liked to attempt teaching english without doing this course. I like the ESA teaching method. I think that this will be really helpful for me to able to put lesson plans into a structure and to help teach the language effectively. The sections on grammar, parts of speech and tenses were very clear and well laid out. I thought they were explained well - I had forgotten a lot of it since school, to be honest. I can see from this course that it is essential to understand grammar. I have printed out the relevant units and I am keeping them with me for future reference. I start the in-class teaching part of this course in less than a fortnight. I'll be interested to see how well I can teach in a proper class environment. I will definitely be referring back to the course notes when I'm preparing my lesson plans. Once I have completed the in-class teaching I think I will apply for a teaching job in South Korea. I have a few friends who taught there and they enjoyed it although they did say that it can be hard to get the students to talk. I can see already that the information provided in this course will be very useful if I go to South Korea. Overall, I enjoyed doing this part of the course and I found it interesting. It made me think more about the english language and how to teach it effectively.
