As a native english speaker, I've never properly studied the grammar of my own first language in school. The way I defined most english tenses and constructs was in the framework of languages whose grammar I studied extensively, especially Latin. This course was quite eye opening and interesting for me in this regard as well as in the creation of lesson plans. I helped teach an AP Latin class and some beginner's Ancient greek in the past, but the dynamic of those classes was so different from what I imagine teaching english to be that I'm excited for this new experience. I plan to interview with tefl agencies near where I am to try teaching abroad for at least a year. I really enjoy teaching, I like working with kids, and I'm interested in integrating in Asian culture for a period of time as an interesting life experience.
