Summarize what you have personally gained from this course, and how you plan to put into action what you have learned. I have learned a lot from this course. What surprised me the most was how much grammar I had to learn. I've spoken english my whole life, but I didn't know all the intricacies of the language and the specific grammatical structures and types of words. Now I know them. I've also gained a greater understanding of teaching and definitely a greater appreciation for everything that goes into being and becoming a good teacher. I've gained confidence in myself as a teacher; I would now be able to go into a room full of students and give a lesson confident that I would teach them something, be able to maintain control, and keep them excited and engaged throughout. I really like the ESA structure; it is a simple and logical way to plan lessons. I would feel comfortable using it in any teaching situation, regardless of the time limit, class size, or resources. I plan to travel the world with this certificate. I'm traveling in South America right now, so hopefully it can help me get hired along the road if I run out of money. I want to have touched every continent by the time I die and teaching english is a cheap and interesting way of doing this. I've spent time in the states tutoring students for whom english is their second language and in Ecuador I spent 4 months teaching english to elementary school students. I loved teaching and watching the students slowly begin to pick up on the language. I feel like I have a natural instinct towards teaching and I'm really excited to go back to it with a greater level of qualification and confidence. A good teacher can change a student's life, I know they have for me, and I aspire to be that teacher.
