This unit lesson taught the importance of a good lesson plan that allows for flexibility in the lesson as well as keeping the teacher on task so that they can accomplish what they desire for the students to learn within the time available to them. This lesson taught some basic principles of planning a lesson by keeping it simple and flexible while maintaining structure and keeping track of time spent on different phases in the lesson. Several practical keys to having a smooth lesson were also given helping to ensure that the teacher is not caught off guard and can focus on the objective of the lesson. Basic things to include in your lesson plan were also covered as well as special issues to consider when planning a sequence of lesson plans. Things like leaving room for flexibility
