I had an experience being an elementary classroom teacher some years ago. I had no formal training so I relied mostly on the books provided by the school. I agree with what was mentioned in this unit that a teacher can be less creative if he only uses a course book. I had to improvise and create my own materials to entice my students especially when the topic was not interesting. I remember using games to make the lesson livelier instead of just asking my students to read and answer their books.
