I took this course to get a better understanding of what is required of tefl teachers. This course has been very helpful in that regard. First, it has provided me with a nice grammatical overview. I will use this framework for additional grammar study. With a good working knowledge of grammar, my students will have confidence in my ability to teach,
Second, the course has provided me with a good understanding of lesson planning. I have learned to make effective lessons that will provide the basic outline for my classes. In addition this course has provided many good ideas for activities. With these ideas, the internet, and other teachers; I should be able to come up with a variety of activities to keep classes interesting.
Finally, this course provided me with insights into how to connect with my students. This aspect is the one I was most concerned with. This course has taught me many ways to build rapport and keep my students interested in my lessons. I now have a solid foundation to begin my teaching career.
