As I am currently working as an Assistant Language teacher in a foreign country, yet have no tefl training or experience, I have found this course to be indispensable for clarifying my knowledge of english grammar and basic language points. It's more often the case than not that fluent english speakers know very little about the structure of their own language. So when asked by non-native speakers why something is said one way, and not another, native speakers will often find it difficult to find a suitable and clearly understandable response.
With the materials provided by the course and the work done with my tutor on the worksheets, I hope to use the information I've learnt as an invaluable tool when teaching english as a foreign languages in many different countries. I plan to travel to many different places, and so having this qualification will show that I've gone to some effort to further boost my teaching skills in the hope that I can assist properly with language learning. However, it's not just in the classroom that these skills are useful; everyday, in casual conversation, I am asked about problems in english, and with the help of this course, I feel I am able to provide a much more constructive way of explaining things to make them easily understood, and more importantly, enjoyable.
