This unit well I must say was an eyeopener. I have never been taught the phonetic symbols although I did know they existed. I had a little difficulty translating Yogi bears conversation with Boo-boo but it become easier as I started to get mt head around it. I'm not sure but think this might confuse students. I believe most english speakers would not have a clue about the phonetic alphabet whats stated in unit 13 p. 1 "its rarely taught in schools or even universities and it seems an alien"" I would agree. The sections on stress rhythm and intonation were excellent as was the section on articulation with pictures it was very informative unit although it was quite difficult. "
