Employment is relatively easy to obtain and salaries, while not high, afford a reasonably comfortable lifestyle. ITTT graduates should find teaching employment with ease with Prague being the most popular international teaching location.

Employers seek suitable teachers throughout the entire year, especially in Prague. The majority of employment is given to teachers who are in the Czech Republic. Language schools in Prague are, without exception, requiring that all teachers possess a valid TEFL certificate. Smaller cities and towns also have a high demand for teachers and offer employees the chance to experience Czech culture and values.

Salaries in Prague are higher than elsewhere in this country but this is evened out by the relative cost of living. English teaching jobs in Prague are highly sought after as many teachers are looking for employment at any given time. It is still a teachers market in Prague as demand exceeds supply. Once offered employment your workload will initially be light because schools like to assess the performance of their teachers before giving them a full time job.

Many teachers in the Czech Republic earn money by giving private lessons to individuals and/or companies. It does take time to build up a working relationship and network of students so an outgoing and social nature will be an advantage to offering your teaching services on a private basis.

Other ways to appeal to private students in addition to those outlined above include placing an advert in a local newspaper, business publication, or on bulletin boards at British Council Universities, internet cafes, coffee bars and other places where Czech nationals tend to gather. Those applicants with business, computer or technical experience have a greater possibility of finding private students or securing a job with a private company.
