As time goes by, it becomes more and more important to learn a second language. This is due to the great technological advance, that is, the growth of world communication; also, in relation to the job search, a second language often allows a great differential and advantage in certain opportunities. Having said that, it is possible to say that acquiring a foreign language is a personal investment. Despite this, many people agree that it is a complex process that requires a lot of time and dedication, unlike the mother tongue, which naturally occurs for everyone. In order to make such learning easier and more interesting, teachers seek to find a way to pass the new language in a manner similar to acquiring their mother tongue. The mother tongue is assimilated in a natural way, in the presence of people, environment and different cultures. The acquisition of the mother tongue occurs in several stages, as we will see below: First, the child absorbs the sounds of the language, without being able to reproduce them. They then begin to produce sounds and intonations until they can articulate words and organize phrases. Only from the age of six or seven does the person begin his or her formal learning process at school. Paradoxically the mother tongue, the second language does not occur naturally, and is therefore needed a more formal form of education e.g. books, videos, etc. It is worth emphasizing that when we talk about acquiring a second language, it is necessary to divide between adults and young learners. Young learners find it easier to learn, because the level of maturation of the Central Nervous System of children is still in the beginning, making it easier to perceive and absorb new sounds; for this reason inserting them into social environments conducive to learning, they will absorb all content as a whole almost in a natural way, not focusing only on each lesson and message given. However, it is important to say that the lessons should be in accordance with the level of the children, because if it is more advanced than expected, there will not have the correct absorption and will bring confusion and frustration to them. In this case, you need to respect each stage of their development, and it is therefore important to start with games, simple vocabulary presentation, so that they can gradually begin to understand the messages in this new language. Above all, such activities create a learning-friendly environment and, for language learning to be more effective, it is important that the activities are meaningful and inspire the student to participate effectively in this process. As for adults, the approach is different. The challenge already begins with the fact that they seek to learn another language (mainly English) because of professional, personal, cultural factors etc., and usually feel pressured to learn this language in a short period of time, often feeling unmotivated for not achieving their goals. In addition, adults already possess a highly developed level of maturation of the Central Nervous System, which makes the absorption of new information and sounds difficult. About this, it is still interesting to mention that this difficulty of learning new sounds causes adults to be led to use the pronunciation of their mother tongue, having problems with pronunciation and phonology for the new language. Given this, it is possible to conclude that adults have different needs in relation to children and, therefore, how language learning should be addressed must be different. However, both need activities that are interesting to them and that meet the needs. For this it is important that all classes are very well planned and always taking into account the characteristics, culture and need of the students in question. A good way to achieve this goal is to try to do everything possible to make learning as natural as possible, as same as the mother language, taking into account the all the areas in productive skills and the receptive skills, respecting all the levels and stages necessary for a good acquisition, so the learning becomes easier and more interesting than expected.
