There have been many important learnings from this unit. The first one would be the concept of having a lesson in different phases, where you vary the type of activities and learning through various parts of the class. The ESA concept is completely new to me, and so I look forward to being able to incorporate it into my classes. The second major learning was about giving feedback. I can see myself wanting to correct someone right away, but I have a better sensitivity now towards the fact that I may need to hold back so as not to discourage a student, and give feedback in a positive and constructive manner. I may need to allow them to finish speaking or completing an exercise, and I must ensure that I give them both positive and negative feedback, so it does not discourage them from experimenting with the language, and so that they're not afraid to make mistakes. I'm looking forward to learning more in the upcoming units.
