I enjoyed the concepts and ideas shared in this unit. I was on the receiving end of grammar-translation instruction and felt this was a slow and boring process for learning language. Likewise, I've had exposure to newer concepts of audio/repetition teaching and these, too, had their limitations. It's apparent that the ESA method would be the most flexible learning method for most students. Having a teacher present to direct the engagement, but allow students to learn in a fun and interesting environment is fantastic concept. I felt the unit did a good job of presenting ideas and information for Engage and Activate phases. I feel I need to do more research on Study concepts and how to make that step most useful.
