There is an old saying in China, that is: "In ancient times scholars always had teachers. It takes a teacher to transmit wisdom, impart knowledge, and resolve doubts." Thus it can be seen that teachers have great influence on the educational setting, and there is no exception to this in modern times or ancient. For a long time now, public servants are the backbone of the community, such as, teachers, firemen and police officers, etc. Teachers play important and meaningful roles in the lives of the students, in the meanwhile, vary different types of roles in the changes of the times and the constantly changes of the process of study. Whether it is for the children who have the future of the world in their hands, or for the learners who give an enormous impetus to the society forward. The big part of the reason of the importance of the role of the teacher is that students need teachers to show them how to get to the right path, and the focus of it could vary from a curriculum teachers must adopt that fits national guidelines and is frequently corresponded to assigned standardized examinations to the created materials they usually design to replace or supplement materials from a course book and make the lesson more interesting and more practical to the students; from the adaptation of a positive, encouraging atmosphere they need to make according to the students' changeable behavior in the class to the feedback and correction they carry out and give themselves an opportunity to see how well students are performing or how well they performed and correct them efficiently; from helping establish rapport between the students and also between the teacher and the class to improving the students learning ability of the normal curriculum of school or extracurricular knowledge and showing them the way to explore the ability to analyse and solve problems on their own to the mysteries of the universe. What we notice here is that unlike other occupation, being a teacher can take on a variety of roles, such as, The Controller, The Prompter, The Resource, The Assessor, The Organizer, The Participant, etc, and they are different, often interchangeable and all link together. The factor to be a good teacher can be diverse. Especially in the mordern time, people live in the global environment which is surrounded by the interchange of world views, products, ideas and other aspects of culture and gain easier access to the Internet and mobile phones than before which generating further interdependence of economic and cultural activities vs. priding themselves on their independence, their right to make up their own minds. So it is pretty obvious that external and internal factors contributed to the enormous complexity of the teaching situation. But It would be wrong to give the impression that it will become the obstacle to the establishment of the rapport between the teachers and the students. Just like the phrase said: “The relationship between a teacher and student should be like a fish and water but not like a fish and fisherman.” It should be kept in mind always by every teacher. The delicate relationship between teachers and students can be empowering and facilitating each others' teaching and learning. Brown, H. Douglas (2007) mentions that “teachers can play many roles in the course of teaching and this might facilitate learning. Their ability to carry these out effectively will depend to a large extent on the rapport they establish with their students, and of course, on their own level of knowledge and skills.” According to Harmer, J. (2007), the term ‘facilitator’ is used by many authors to describe a particular kind of teacher, one who is democratic (where the teacher shares some of the leadership with the students) rather than autocratic (where the teacher is in control of everything that goes on in the classroom), and one who fosters learner autonomy (where students not only learn on their own but also take responsibility for that learning) through the use of group and pair work and by acting as more of a resource than a transmitter of knowledge. As can be seen from the above, facilitating learning not only helps students adopt self-motivation, initiative and creativity skills, but also enable the teachers become more interactively and flexible. The role of the teacher will change along with times change, so must the importance of the role of the teacher. And for the teachers, the career of teaching should not be taken up just for teaching part but also for their own lifelong learning, pass down this spirit to the students and extend each others' education system.
