Teach English in Xujia Zhen - Chengdu Shi

There are four groups that emerge when we are talking about learning and behavior theories. 1. Maturation( natural biological process are fundamental), 2. Environmental theory (environment in which we exist is fundamental), 3. Constructivism( combination of the previous two ideas), 4. Other theories. Language acquisition include this ideas: learning is not a linear process, language is learnt through its use, something what we learn in L1 may not be pica able for L2, young learners do not learn as quickly as older learners. Young learners can be divided to two groups. Group 1 ( 5-9 years old) and group 2 ( 9-13 years old). For group 1 lessons will involve a lot of physical activities and possibly high noise level. No really standard for this group lessons just Engage and Practice. For group 2 it can be ESA lessons (engage, study and activate) in different variations (straight arrow, boomerang, patchwork). Seat arrangements can be in circular, semi-circular, group tables orders. Seating arrangements will influence the atmosphere in the classroom. Also should consider the teacher position, teacher resources, students resourses. As students get older the classroom will be changed. Group 1 likes: movement, doing, talking, singing, shouting, listening to stories, playing games, pretending. Dislikes: being static, listening to instructions, being quiet. Group 2 likes: games, talking with peers, thinking, collecting, classifying, tv and film, music, computers, smartphones, social media. Dislikes: structure, presenting in front of others, the opposite sex, embarrassment, singing, pretending.
