In this unit the material available for classroom use and how these materials can be used in lesson planing was discussed. I was helped to see from this unit how lesson plans can help teachers to think deeply about the lesson and what it is they want to achieve such as the teacher's personal aim as well as what the students are expected to achieve in the lesson by writing a learner objective. Lesson plans also helps teachers to anticipate possible problems for students and for themselves as well. This unit also pointed out how creating lesson plans can help teachers be organized as teachers will have an accurate record of what it is they have taught. In addition different materials such as authentic materials in the form a newspaper article or a song and non authentic materials such as word search or worksheets use in each stage of the lesson was discussed.
