This unit has covered the use of materials in the classroom, as well as how to prepare for a class with young learners, and how to manage it. Although I expected to learn more about child psychology in the classroom, this unit enlightened me by explaining the approach towards lesson planning for children. As a teacher for adults, lesson planning generally tends to be dry and archaic, but this unit has taught me that for children, focus is inevitably on activities and heavy involvement at all times. As for the materials, I'm lead to believe that course books should therefore act as a basic foundation, and not as a main go-to to teach. Teacher-student engagement is key.
