Unit 4 covers the use of materials. First, it differentiates the use of authentic and non-authentic materials and their sources. Second, it goes into lesson planning and how to develop the lesson plan. Third, it covers the book resources. Finally, it discusses the use of the internet and classroom management. I think for me the most important part is still lesson planning. Most companies I have been in left course book selection to either curriculum developers or to the parents. I think it’s important to have an understanding of the good and bad qualities of textbooks even though the teacher might not make the decision on what to use.
