This unit highlighted how important creativity is when teaching young learners. Young learners can be easily distracted and as discussed in a previous unit often do not have a goal or a personal reason as to why they are learning English. Therefore it is the teacher's responsibility to motivate and encourage them to develop an interest in learning English. Young learners are usually very enthusiastic about songs, especially those they can sing along, and games. In this unit the use of such materials was discussed as well as the use of arts and craft and drama. In addition,this unit pointed out that songs and chants are an effective memorization tool. This is useful as it can used with a variety of age groups and engages students which will in turn result in it being enjoyable for the students.
