The are four Present Tenses in English: 1) Present Simple 2) Present Continuous 3) Present Perfect 4) Present Perfect Continuous Each of them presents three forms: a) Affermative b) Negative c) Questions Each of the main four Present Tenses (1-4) presents different usages, that sometimes overlap. A consistent part of the lesson should be focused on usages, in order to help students develop patterns that are going to be employed - in a more creative and free manner - in the active communication activity/ies. Moreover, in communicative exercises students can practice all the forms of a tense (a - c), or just some, according to the focus of the lesson. Finally, students make common mistakes both of forms (a-c) and usages. In the Study Phase of the lesson (EAS), the teacher should make students note some of these common mistakes.
