This unit deals with a brief overview of verb tenses and then delves deeper into the four variants of present tense verbs. The four present tense verb variants taught are: simple, continuous, perfect and perfect continuous. For each variant of the present verb tense, definitions, rules, exceptions, examples and teaching activities are given. I found that the lesson could have done a better job of comparing and contrasting the differences between the perfect and perfect continuous varietals. One thing I did learn is that is often difficult to explain some of the reasons as to “why” many of the exceptions exists, without resorting to: “it just is.”
