This unit provides an overview of the four present tenses, how they are constructed, when they are used and what types of exercises can be used to reinforce these tenses with students. It also provides some common mistakes that students make when attempting to use these tenses. While second nature to an native English speaker, it is clear how the differing use of these tenses could be confusing to a non-native speaker and highlights the importance of ensuring it is made as clear as possible to the learner when each should be used.
