Unit five discussed some of the basics of the best tools for classroom management. The unit began by explaining the appropriate uses of gestures, eye contact, voice commands, and students’ names when controlling the individuals within a classroom. The unit also discussed various ways in which the teacher can group students to complete activities or assignments, and ways in which the physical seats within a classroom can be arranged. The unit concluded by discussing the best ways to balance student and teacher talk time, how to discipline students, how to give thorough instructions and maintaining a positive relationship between the teachers and the students. This unit was very helpful in explaining a variety of potential issues that may arise within a class room, and the best way to go about solving these issues.
