As a practicing teracher, I found this unit to be a good review of classroom management. A teacher who is able to build rapport with students by creating an inviting learning environment and respondng to different student needs by keeping lessons interesting and diverse is a teacher who will have few discipline problems. Keeping studetns engaged with level appropriate language and activities will increase motivation and therefore decrease distraction. It is important for teachers to use eye, contact, gestures and voice to hold student interest. Mutual respect and a motivation learning environment are key elements to classroom management.
