Classroom management is the skill of organizing the class and the individuals and what takes place within the class. This unit explores some of the proven strategies that enable the teacher to control his classroom and keep his students focused on learning while preventing disruption from slowing the learning process.The things that can help with the class management depend on the teacher and his flexibility on organizing and managing variables of curriculum, space, time and interaction with students. What I have learnt from this unit is, there are many things to consider before making the lesson starting with the eye contact,voice ,gesture and the grouping of students ( during activities ). The teacher organizes his students into different ways of grouping to keep them active and uses eye contact to hold their attention as well as being flexible and change his role according to the actual situation. classroom arrangement must be considered in terms of sitting how it is going to affect the actual classroom atmosphere and which arrangement is going to be conducive for example the arrangement of sitting . Board-work , giving the students individual attention , the use of teaching time talk, giving instructions and rapport building are very important aspects that should be taken into consideration for an effective classroom management. Another vey important aspect that is discussed in this unit and that I find very interesting is the discipline within the classroom and the teacher's response to the problem behavior. This lesson gives ideas to the teacher that can be used to react immediately before things worsen and especially keep calm. An enthusiastic ,fair, well prepared and punctual teacher can get the respect of his students and therefore have a good control of his class and can spend more time on teaching than disciplining.
