One of the key aspects I learnt was the roles of both the teacher and the student. If the teacher has the right qualities then, this makes the student more motivated and participating in the class. In addition, when the student is ¨ready¨ to learn, with personal self-motivation and drive, then this in turns leads to a more successful lesson. Also the main differences between the different age groups of students. Adults tend to have more self-motivation and a desire to improve, though may come with previously learnt bad study habits or a lack of time. Where as teenagers tend to need more motivation to learn, as there is a feeling of obligation rather than seeing the benefit to their personal development and future prospects. Very young learners need learning a language to be fun and exciting, so it doesn´t feel like they are studying a language but instead acquiring a language, as is normally done when learning their mother tongue.
