I have learned when it comes to learning a language, there is 6 levels you have to go through. I thought there was only three, which would beginner, intermediate and advanced, but it seems to be a bit more complicated than that. Being a good teacher is more than just about being kind and patient, you really have to make sure you are reaching each student in the classroom. Not only that, but you have to engage all the students equally, make sure each and everyone of them understand. You have to find your own and unique creative way to making lessons interesting. Being lively and motivational is the ideal key. As teachers we also need to be able to find away to correct someone’s mistake without embarrassing them. One way to avoid that is taking the time to learn the culture and language of the country your teaching in. Figure out the do and don’ts of the society before fully jumping in. From what I read it seems easier to teach older students, than it is to teach younger ones because the attention span is so limited. Either way it’s important to be energetic and make sure each student understands fully before going onto the next topic.
