This unit established what is expected of the student and of the teacher. It explained the good qualities of a teacher, as well as the different roles they have when teaching. The teacher's role changes from lecturing at the front of the class, to individual feedback, and also encouraging the student with minimal guidance. It also discussed the differences between younger students and adults. The unit set a guide for language levels in order to determine the level of experience a student has with English.
