Unit 1 covers -How to be a good teacher By organizing, motivating students and having a good rapport. whilst keeping lessons interesting and livley. -The roles of a teacher As an Assessor we can give valuable immediate feedback and correction, by acting as a prompter we can encourage and motivate helping our students past areas of difficulty -Traits of a good learner By knowing the traits of a good learner we can look for these traits in our students, and encourage them to engage them more often and readily. i.e when our student finds pronounciation of a new word difficult, encouraging them to take the initiative and try to use the new difficult word in more instances -Different types of learners and the challenges they may face Particulars like Age, Culture and already learned instances of english can provide a challenge to learners. A younger age learner can be challenged by a lack of focus or desire, where as an older learner may feel nervousnes or some embarrasement. In the case of cultural differences the learner may be for instance be more reserved and not forthcoming when it comes to verbalizing for fear of embarrasement. As for prior learned instances of the language the student may have confusion that should be resolved for further progress to be made. -How to recognize a learners current level of english abilities being able to categorize our learners from beginners all the way up to advanced allows us to better suit them to lessons that they will find engaging and of appropriate challenge
