This unit concerns the roles of the teacher and the learners. It helps us to understand what the qualifications and charectoristics if a good teacher are such as being kind and patient and really love teaching. They should be able to motivate th learner while being able to correct them when necessary without offending them We also learned the different roles that a teacher may play such as modeling the language and when it is appropriate to play a certain role. They my act the role of a participant or a facilitator or a monitor. These ill often depend on the type of activity and what we wish the learners to achieve. A good learner must be willing to listen to the language and experiment. Be willing to ask questions have a real desire to learn and be accepting when corrected by the teacher. We were taught the six different levels of speaking ability. Such as beginers,elementary, low/pre intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced. I feel this unit was helpful in begining to form a ground work of understanding of the relationship between the teacher and the leaner.
