This lesson was a great overview of the levels of language usage across the globe. I know I appreciated the distinctions of language learners. This classification made me rethink where I fall in these categories in foreign languages. It was also helpful to understand how these levels translate to usage in schools across Europe. I found it fascinating that the names were prefect descriptors of how students could access and use the language in real world situations. I also found it interesting to note where language learners have the most difficulties within the stages of language learning. This with the added differences and similarities between adult and younger students made this lesson quite powerful. An excellent reminder for all educators.
