The content of unit one was about the roles and responsibilities of teachers and students in the classroom. There are various different methods and approaches that can be used in the classroom, and this unit breaks down the main focuses. Having different methods and approaches are important, but what is just as important is knowing how to be flexible and adapt to the situation of the student and the classroom. Students learning English come from many different countries, cultures, and situations; and have all different types of levels. Knowing and understanding these factors will make teaching the English language that much easier, and the results that much better. This unit illustrates that teaching is not just about right or wrong, but about understanding your students and yourself, to create the best expereince possible, and to be malleable, and willing to adapt.
